Welcome to The Real XX.

This is a place reserved for truth telling.

A sacred campfire around which we can share our stories and navigate our way to a hopeful new horizon, together.

Anyone is welcome to share their story here.
You will be heard. You will be believed.

You can share anonymously and you can even send us your story which we promise to never publish, if you just need a place to get it off your chest.

Many of us who grew up in religion have true stories to share about what it means to rise above the patriarchy, to rise against it and to do the work, day in and day out, in our families, our churches, our communities and in our missions.

Some of us have lost our faith, some of us are holding on by a thread.
Some of us are more faithful than ever.

The fight against the patriarchy is real.
Because until we live in a world and a faith we have designed alongside men, we live in a male-dominated world.

So we need sisters, we need friends, we need to be challenged and comforted and entertained – we need a place for the real XX to shine.

With love, from the Sisterhood.

Disclaimers and legalities.

When you submit a story, we’ll show you a preview before we publish and give you a link. It’s up to you what you do with it. You can choose your anonymity or your boldness. However, we maintain the right to edit for grammar, readability and appropriate levels of profanity (sometimes we need profanity to fight the patriarchy). With truth comes power, so we take no responsibility to fact-check these story submissions but we will not name and shame with right of response.
